水痘の神経合併症としての顔面神経麻痺—症例報告と文献的考察

Facial Nerve Paralysis as a Neurological Complication in Chickenpox

　I．はじめに

　顔面神経麻痺（以下顔神麻痺と略す）を主症状の一つとするHunt症候群は日常稀ならず遭遇する疾患であり，その病因は水痘帯状疱疹ウイルス（以下VZVと略す）の感染であることが確定しているが，同じVZV感染症である水痘の神経合併症として顔神麻痺を来す例は極めて稀のようである。最近われわれはこのような症例を経験したので，文献的考察を加え報告する。

　Although chickenpox and Hunt's syndrome are regarded as infectious diseases caused by the same virus (varicella-zoster virus), the complication of facial nerve paralysis in chickenpox is extremely rare.

　A 11-year-old boy developed right peripheral facial nerve paralysis as a sole neurological symptom one week after onset of chickenpox.

　The relationship between chickenpox and herpes zosterinduced disturbances, especially Hunt's syndrome, was discussed.
