水痘の合併症としての桐沢型ぶどう膜炎

Acute retinal necrosis developing after chickenpox in adults

　免疫能が何らかの原因で低下している20歳代の3名が，水痘に罹患し，その3週間後，1例では両眼，2例では片眼に桐沢型ぶどう膜炎が発症した。免疫能が低下している成人では，水痘の合併症として桐沢型ぶどう膜炎にも注意する必要がある。

Acute retinal necrosis developed about 3 weeks after chickenpox in 3 adults aged 20, 26 and 29 years each. The ocular lesion was unilateral in 1 and bilateral in 2 cases. All the cases were in im-munocompromised states. One was in the 10th month of pregnancy, another was under long termtreatment with oral corticosteroid for relapsing nephrotic syndrome, and the third had been suffer-ing from relapsing upper airway infection due to bronchiectasia. Chickenpox in adults needs due attention as a possible precursor of acute retinal necrosis.
