  • Look Inside

This study was designed to detect any causes explaining the recent increase of Japanese cedar pollinosis. Available answers to questionnaire wereobtained from 451 patients of this pollinosis and 148 non-allergic persons.

Male smokers are 25.1% in the former and 62.7% in the latter (P<0.001). But in other items such as residential environment, structure of house, material of the floor in bedroom, home air-conditioning, daily walking time, degree of inhalation of exhaust gas from cars, degree of passive smoking, favorite diet, foods and drinks, no apparent difference was observed between these two groups.

At present, it is difficult to find the causes of increasing incidence of Japanese cedar pollinosis in the patients' personal life style.
