  • Look Inside

Recently Japanese cedar pollinosis becomes prevalent in every three year. Questionaires were obtained from 451 patients in 1979, and 528 patients were investigated in 1982. Both years were prevalent of the disease.

As to the symptoms, itching of the eyes is complained by more than 90% of the patients. The other symtoms of cedar pollinosis were sneezing, hydrorrhea and nasal obstruction in equal frequency.

The results of treatments judged by the patientshad about 50% of efficacy in 1979. But Beclomethasone dipropionate in 1982 changed the mode and efficacy of the therapy.

RAST for Japanese cedar pollen was positive in53 out of 54 patients. Correlation between RAST score and the duration of the disease was not present.
