  • Look Inside

As the result of screening test for hearing in senior high-schools 23 students were regarded as having abnormal hearing.

They received the further audiometric studies, and it was found that 16 students of them had high frequency sensorineural hearing loss which was considered to be noise-induced.

The authors were eventually unable to find out the tangible origin of the hearing impairment, but high intensity recreational sounds, which are called "music noise", with the use of stereophonic phonograph, headphone, and earphone, and individual vulnerability to acoustic stimulus were considered to be the most important factors of the occurrence of the high frequency hearing impairment.
