1976年から1978年における佐賀市学童の鼻汁好酸球陽性率

EOSINOPHILIA IN NASAL DISCHARGE IN THE PUPILS OF SAGA CITY, INVESTIGATED FROM 1976 TO 1978

　近年，学校健診のたびに，ひところあんなに多かった膿性鼻漏が影をひそめ，そのかわりというか，水性鼻汁と，鼻粘膜が蒼白く腫脹した学童の多いのに驚かされる。それは鼻アレルギーを思わせるものであり，もし，鼻アレルギーとすれば，かなり高い率のようにも思える。はたしてどの程度の罹病率なのか興味のあるところであり，毎年，定期的に実施している学校健診を利用し，学童から鼻汁をとって，好酸球をしらべることとした。

　佐賀市の耳鼻科医は，個々に特定の小，中学校を担当せず，専門医13名で校医団を構成し，定期健診時には，団長が設定した日程に従って3人，4人と随時チームを編制し，健診にあたっている。今回の調査にこのシステムを利用し，視診，鼻汁採取，染色，鏡検の作業を分担し，調査をすすめることとした。

　Investigation on eosinophilic cells in nasal smearswas performed in 9694 pupils in 5 primary schools in SAGA city and its vicinity for the recent three consecutive years.

　The average value of eosinophiles was 3%, 4% in urban district and in agricultural district at sea side. In the main symptoms of nasal allergy, sneezing was more noticeably correlated with eosinophilia than watery nasal discharge and nasal obstruction.

　The pupils with allergic disposition in the urban district showed high incidence of eosinophilia and the pupils without allergic disposition in the agricultural district showed low incidence of eosinophilia.
