先天性真性甲状腺嚢腫の1例

A CONGENITAI, THYROID CYST, REPORT OF A CASE

　I．はじめに

　乳幼児の喘鳴は気道の狭窄に起因することが多く，さまざまな病因によつて気道の内腔が狭くなり，そのために呼気あるいは吸気量が減少し呼吸障害があらわれるようになる。

　気道のなかでも上気道疾患による呼吸障害は比較的多く，吸気性の呼吸困難がみられ，きわめて短かい時間で容態が激変することも少なくないしたがつて迅速にして的確な診断ならびに治療が要求されるのは当然である。

　A baby girl suffering from a genuine congenital thyroid cyst is reported. The patient was affected with a respiratory distress and stridor, 12 hours after birth. On the following few days a retropharyngeal swelling and a lump appeared on the left side of the neck.

　On the 14th day after birth this tumor was removed by means of a surgical intervention. Histologically. at the first glance, the tumor resembled that of thyroglossal duct cyst. However, because the tumor was located in such an area where the thyroglossal cysts do not usually exist, it could not be considered as that of the thyroglossal duct.

　The tumor was, finally concluded to be a genuine thyroid cyst caused by growth of embryonic remnants of the thyroid primodium, the ultimobranchial body.
