Patients with oro-pharyngeal mycosis are more frequently encountered in recent years probably due to the generalized use of antibiotics. Clinically, oro-pharyngeal mycosis is possessed with various forms of manifestations and the diagnosis of this condition is not always an easy one to make, except in typical cases.

The authors report several cases characterized by glistending red tongue with yellowish-gray colored sputa in the pharynx and sometimes with the corner of the mouth eroded without any patch, ulcer or tumor. In clinical features these cases are different from that of the thrush and other deep seated candidiasis.

The treatment consisted of gargling with a solution of amphotericin-B which was satisfactory in effect. This treatment is recommended, particularly, in cases of suspected oro-pharyngeal mycosis in order to confirm the diagnosis.
