Calcifying epithelioma(Malherbe's Tumor;Pilomatrixoma,pilomatricoma)は主に表皮下に被膜されて存在する硬い表皮性の良性腫瘍である。
A male infant, aged 16 months, was bought to authors' attention complaining of a firm tumor on the right preauricular region. Histopathological examination revealed the growth to be composed of shadow cells and small basophilic cells.
Calcifying epitheliomas are chiefly found in young people affecting the face, neck and arm regions. The calcification that takes place in the shadow cells, however, is not an essential characteristic of this tumor.
The tumor was removed surgically; no recurrence is seen.
