鼓室硬化症について

TYMPANOSCLEROSIS

　Ⅰ．緒言

　近年，聴力増進手術の発展に伴い，積極的に耳手術が行なわれ，さらに手術顕微鏡が使用されるようになつてから，中耳および側頭蜂巣内の色々の病変が再び注目され，論議されてきた。

　いわゆるコレステリン肉芽腫もそうであり，ここに述べようとする鼓室硬化症もまたその一つである。しかし，鼓室硬化症は最近新たに見出されたものではなく，Harrisによると，1869年，ZöllnerおよびBeckによれば，1873年にすでにvon Tröltschによつて記載されていたのであるが，1955年ZöllnerおよびBeckがPaukenskleroseについて報告するまでは，あまり関心が払われていなかつたようである。

　Five cases of the tympanosclerosis are reported. Various areas of the tympanic cavity were found involved; the epitympanum, the anterior-superior angle and the the of the perforated tympanic membrane, In one case a cholestrin-granuloma was also recognized.

　The author considered that this type of degeneration may be caused by absorption process, that occur consequent to inflammatory increase of reticular and osseous tissues and tissue vacuolization in the meanwhile. Such a reaction may be found to be involving any area of the tympanic cavlty.
