英国における聴力障害児の分類

CLASSIFICATION OF DEAFNESS AMONG CHILDREN IN BRITISH MEDICINE

　「所かわれば品かわる」で，聴力障害児の分類には，聴力損失の程度による分類，病巣部位による分類，失聴原因による分類，失聴時期による分類，などいろいろな分類法があり得るが，英国では実際的な教育上の見地からつぎのような段階別に分類している。

　第Ⅰ段階

　これに属するのは，普通の教室の状態の下で20フィート以上離れて会話を聴いたり，理解したりすることができ，35db（純音聴力計による測定で）以下の聴力損失を有する子供である。

　Step One: The children are selected with normal hearing in whom no aid whatsoever is required.

　Step Two: Selction of children in whom special aid is necessary in proper hearing.

　Step Three: Selection of children for the education of the deaf.
