 The results of anesthesia in sinus operations by maxillary nerve block, particularly rhe Nomura's second method, are reported. The nerve block anesthesia was administered in 142 coses, consisting of patients whose ages ranging from 10 to 69, 87 males and 55 females and 255 facial sides. Expressed in terms of one plus to three pluses in accordance to the degree of anesthesia produced, 71. 37% of cases were 3 plus, resulting in a complete anesthesia throughout the area supplied by the maxillary nerve, 18. 3% were 2 plus where the area of aneshtesia was limited to the maxillary cavity alone; 1 plus in 6.68% anesthesia was only partial in the maxillary cavity; 3.92% of cases in whom the result was negative. In cases where production of anesthesia was only partial by this method, other methd of anesthetization had to be incorporated.
