A case of Meniere's syndrome was studi-ed from both, clinical and pathological, aspe-cts followed by a postmortem examination. The patient was a man 54 years old who su-ffered numerous attacks during the 4 years preceding his last illness.

The disease was so aggravated that in its later stage the attack of vertigo was induced with positional changes of the head or body; recruitment phenomenon was noted both sub-jectively as well as objectively. The patient was affected with low blood pressure and allergic diasthesis. He suffered abnormality of the cervical spine and had symptoms of Barsony disease.

The post-mortem examination showed a marked atrophy of the vascular system sup-plying the organs of Corti on the diseased side: aonormal staining and edema of this structure were also noted.

The authors conclude that attacks of verti-go in this case were most likely caused by poor blood supply to the inner ear with addi-tional disturbances that may be provoked in the corresponding cerebral center.
