咽頭手術に起因する斜頸の1例

　I．緒言

　咽頭領域に於て，扁桃炎を始めとする急性炎症に合併，又はアデノイド及び口蓋扁桃手術に続発する斜頸については，1894年Mackernonが始めて記載して以来，外国には多数の報告がある。我国に於ても1931年の吉田の報告を始め，津川，神中，堀内，松田らの記載があるが，最近ではその報告が殆んど見当らない。ここに我々はアデノイド及び口蓋扁桃手術の続発症と思われる斜頸の一例を経験したので報告する次第である。

A boy, aged 17 developed torticollis imme-diately following tonsillectomy. The patient recovered in about the period of 1 month during which a constant extension forces were applied to the contracted cervical mus-cles. The authors believe the mechanism of torticollis to be the infectious process that in-vaded the cervical muscles following phary-ngeal operation.
