Fukazawa attempts to find means to obviate death that may arise from the state of shock. That the rate of death due to shock from operative procedures adopted in the region of oropharynx, such as on that of the tonsils, cleft palate and post-pharyngeal abcesses, exceeds by far of any operation performed elsewhere in the body is a well known fact. Iida has reported a successful production of experimental shock and deaths due to shock in animals, guinea pigs, by administration of the palate by injections. Similar results has been obtained by the author in reduplication of the experiment.

However, when chlorpromazine is administered subcutaneously as a measure for premedication prior to administration of shock producing dosage of croton oil, no death resulted. Following this procedure 18 guinea pigs were placed under the test, the entire number remained alive. Administration of chlorpromazine simultaneously with that of croton oil proved to be ineffective in preventing deaths; there were 6 deaths among the 20 animals treated in this latter way.

Necroscopic examination of the animals died of shock revealed, in their internal organs, lungs, kidneys, adrenal glands and liver, evidences pointing to circulatory disturbances; no pathological changes were noted in the animal that survived the shock by use of chlorpromazines.
