緒言
本邦における特殊教育が欧米のそれに比べて劣つていることは,茲に改めて述べるまでもないことであつてこれは国家のこの方面に対する施策の貧弱なるによること勿論であるが,我が国民の不具者に対する理解同情の不充分なことや,特殊教育に対する関心が非常に低いことにもよると考えなければならない.
私共は先年当地聾唖学校在学生の父兄に数項の問合せを出し.これによる返答から特珠な狭い範囲に限られてはいるが聾唖児を有する父兄並びに医師の聾唖児に対する認識の深さを検討したことがあった.これについては当時松田教授が日本医事新報(昭和15年2月3日発行.第908号)に「医師は聾唖児をいかに取扱うべきか」と題て医人の関心を喚起するところがあつた.
KANO and his associates attempt to make study of process the deaf-mute chidren are ordinarily. put through before they are, brought for, admittance into special educational institutions. With an interval of 10 years time two investigations are occasioned chiefly dealing with attitudes of the parents and the physicians concerned in the cases towards these unfortunate children; the two notes are compared.
From this study it is stated that some improvement has been seen by ways of therapeutic approach on the question but as to general interests towards care of these children changes are almost negligiple.
The authors contend that. insofar, as the Physicians will be concerned interests in the matter should be awakened to such an extent that they might be able to afford these children their proper treatments, to give advise for introduction of facilities for special edueation and, possibly aid the selections of their future vocation.
