I．はじめに

　CTの出現以来，脳膿瘍の早期発見が容易となり，そのCT所見に関して，初期脳炎の段階から脳膿瘍の形成，治癒に至るまでの経時的な観察も可能となった．しかし，脳梗塞に続発して脳膿瘍が形成されたとする報告は少なく，一般に脳卒中の合併症としての脳膿瘍の記載をみない。われわれは，脳梗塞発症2カ月後，梗塞部位に脳膿瘍を生じた1例を経験したので，文献的考察を加えて報告する．

The authors report a case of brain abscess following cerebral infarction. A 73-year-old man was admitted to our clinic with symptoms of right hemiparesis and total aphasia. CT scan revealed abnormal low density area in the left fronto-temporo-parietal region. Cerebral angiography demonstrated occlusion of the left middle cerebral artery at the M₁ portion. On the 16th hospital day, an episode of generalized seizure with high fever appeared, and intermittent high fever persisted there-after.
