I．はじめに

　近年，体性感覚誘発電位（somatosensory evokedpotential：SEP）の研究が盛んに行われ，日常臨床の中で病態把握や診断のみならず，術中や病室でのモニターとしても応用されている^5,8）．SEPの有用性は周知の事実といえるが，その検討は病巣側のみに限られたものが多い．病巣側を非病巣側と対照して比較検討した報告^4）もみられるが，非病巣側に焦点を当てて検討したものは少ない^2,3,7）．今回，一側大脳半球内血腫例で，非出血側SEPに注目し，同時期に行ったCT scan上でのmidlineshiftの程度，血腫部位，さらに意識障害との比較検討を行った．

Somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) recorded from the unaffected hemispheres were studied in pa-tients of less than one month after the Onset of unilat-eral intracerebral hematoma. We examined 66 SEPs obtained from 49 patients with putaminal hemorrhage (midline shift 0 - 15 mm) , 38 SEPs from 25 patients with thalamic hemorrhage (midline shift 0 - 8 mm) , and 14 SEPs from 10 patients with subcortical hemor-rhage (midline shift 0 - 12 mm) . These examinations were made after electrical stimulation of the median nerve at the wrist by using square waves of 0.2 msec in duration delivered at a rate of 3 Hz.
