There has been 43 cases of post-traumatic diabetes insipidus reported in this country to our knowledge, but little is known about their pathological findings.
The patient was a 40 year old man who had severe head injury by traffic accident on July 1st, 1974. Soon after the injury, he became semicomatous and transferred to Hokkaido University Hospital. Neurologic examination on admission revealed anisocoria with bilateral absent light reflex and generalized hypereflexia. No decerebrate posture was seen. Respiratory distress and arrhythmia were observed.
