  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The anterior inferior cerebellar artery crosses the cerebellopontine angle cistern in close association with the seventh and eighth cranial nerves and supplies the lower pons, medulla, and anterior portion of the cerebellum. If this artery is occluded during operation on a c-p angle tumor, a grave danger to the patient will be resulted. This derives from damage to the autonomic pathways caused by infarction of the tegmenturn of the pons2).
