大脳辺縁系の機能と神経伝達物質

The functional aspects of neurotransmitters in the limbic system.

　辺縁系は，部位によって古典的な伝達物質を多量に含むので，以前から注目されてきた。最近，消化管ペプチドなどが主に辺縁系に高濃度に存在することが見出され，その分布やペプチドを含むニューロンの形態，シナプスの微細構造について多くの報告がある。また，ペプチドが脳の単一ニューロンにどのように作用するかについてもよく研究されている。しかし，ペプチド含有ニューロンの機能的意味がまだ不明なので文献を挙げるに止め^{1,2,4,6,23,26,29,36,37,40,42,55,57,58,67,70,80,83）}，ここでは，シナプス伝達物質としての役割が比較的明瞭な物質に限って最近の問題を紹介する。

1. The evidence that glutamic acid is an exci-tatory transmitter in the hippocampus was review-ed, and the type of glutamate-receptors mediating excitatory postsynaptic potentials (EPSPs) was in-ferred. The possibility that aspartylglutamic acid and N-acetyl-aspartylglutamic acid are transmitters in the hippocampus was discussed.
