Abstract

In this paper, various aspects of leprous neuritis are discussed. Although there are few patients with leprosy in Japan (less than ten thousand), some new aspects of leprous neuritis will be presented to attract the attention of the neurologist and neuropathologists.

As previously described by many authors, all patients with leprosy have peripheral neuritis. Consequently, when counting all the patients in the world with leprous neuritis, it will be the single largest group of neuritis.
