Theory and method of CBF study with 133Xe

はじめに

　放射性ゼノン（Xenon）により脳の局所血流量を定量的に求めることが可能である。こうした脳循環動態の把握は脳血管障害の病態生理を正しく理解するのに必要であるばかりでなく，治療方針を立てるうえで不可欠なものとなりつつある。脳循環の定量的測定が1945年以来行なわれてきたが，その歴史を要約すると，

　第一期1945〜1960：Kety ＆ Schmidtの笑気（N₂O）吸入法による全脳平均循環測定^1,2）

　Since Kety & Schmidt developed the theory and method to measure total CBF in man, CBF study is recognized to be a necessity for modern clinical research and management of cerebrovascular disorder. Ingvar & Lassen made it possible to measure regional CBF by injecting inert diffusible radioactive tracer into internal carotid (i. c.) with external detection. In this paper analytical means of head curves obtainted by i. c. method are described, such as compartment analysis, stochastic analysis, and initial slope method.
