  • Look Inside

The location of amine neuronal perikarya, their terminal distribution and their projecting pathway were surveyed by fluorescence histochemical observations. Amine neurons in the central nervous system are composed of dopamine, noradrenaline, adrenaline and serotonin neurons and their perikarya locate mainly in the brain stem from the medulla oblongata to the caudal part of the diencephalon. They form each projecting system and their terminals distribute in broad areas of the brain such as in the hypothalamus, basal ganglion, limbic system and even in the cerebral cortex.
