Servoanalytic study on manual motor system

　人体はその生命を維持していくためには，種々の機能を組み合わせて合目的に充分に作動させていかなければならない。そして，その目的に正確に適するようにnegative feedbackをかける系をそれぞれ持っていることが考えられる。この典型的なものとして，呼吸運動，heart pumping system，瞳孔系統，協同運動系が数えられる。工学方面でfeedback control systemの分析・合成を研究する学問がサーボ機構と呼ばれるものであり，この理論を人の系へ応用しようとの試みは，1948年Wienerに依って提唱されたサイバネティックスの一つであり，現在も盛んに行なわれていて，大きな成果をあげている。初期に行なわれた研究はStegmann^1），Stark^2）らにより行なわれた瞳孔系であり，これを一つのエポックとして人の運動系ヘサーボ機構理論の応用が開始されることとなった。

For analyzing a manual motor system, a ser-voanalytic method which has been frequently used in electrical engineering was applied to this field. The motor coordination apparatus consists of pointer servo and handle servo, which have a DC-motor and a potentiometer with gears, and a recorder. Watching the pointer with three sinusoids (unpredictable input), man follows it by the handle carefully. The response to the sinusoids was divided into two types, transient and steady ones.
