Since the adequate stimuli for pain are 'noxious' as defined by Sherrington, which means 'threat-ening to damage the tissues', the body receiving such a stimulation should react with all recruit-ments of various organizations in the body. This induces a vague and complicated nature in pain phenomena. Reflecting this characteristic, theory on pain is still fluctuating now.
