神経細胞および脳のモデル

Models for neuron and brain.

I．はじめに

　脳の情報処理機構の研究が盛んになるにつれ，モデルやシミュレーションの手法が注目されるようになった。本稿では，モデルの考え方，注目されるに至った背景を考察し，最近の成果のいくつかを紹介する。HarmonとLewis^1）による神経モデルの綜説が出されてすでに10年近くたつ。この間，神経生理学の進歩も著しく，モデルの研究も数多く報告されている。これらを系統的に整理して示すのが本稿の務めであるが，浅学の身では到底不可能である。ここでは，筆者の目の届いた範囲で，神経細胞と脳のモデルの状況をまとめてみた。

The use of electronic analogs and mathematical models has expanded rapidly in the field of brain research during last decade. This review discusses, first of all, the background of this tendency as well as the role of models and then examines contemporary neural models.

By the use of such techniques as dyening, microelectrode and electron microscope, brain science has revealed the properties of neurons as elementary units of brain and identified some connections between them.
