The control of the extraocular motoncurons from the precruciate cortex through the pyramidal tract fibers

I．はじめに

　眼球運動には，二つの異なる運動のパタンがある。このことは70年前すでにDodge^10）により記載されている。一つはsaccadic eye movement（がたつき運動，衝動性運動）SCであり，他はsmooth pursuit eye movement（滑動性運動）SPといわれるものである^1,32）。SCは，われわれの関心のある2点の間を眼球がジャンプして視標をとらえる場合，あるいは，視標と眼球の位置のずれを補正する早い眼球運動である。視標の位置が網膜中心窩から視角15分以上離れると必然的に発生する^30）。SCの速度は振幅により異なるが，ヒトでは最高約700°/sec^17），サルでは約1,000°/sec^31）まで達する。

　SPは視標が動くとき出現し，それをなめらかに追跡する眼球運動である。閉眼するとこの眼球運動は現われない。追跡できる最大の速度は90°/secであり，バルビタール系の催眠薬を服用すると視標を追跡することになる^30）。

　Effects of the electrical stimulation of the pre-cruciate cortex and cerebral peduncle on the motoneurons innervating each of six extraocular muscles were investigated both extra- and intracellularly in the pyramidal cat.

　Cats were anesthetized with pentobarbital sodium and were immobilized by administration of gallamine triethiodide under artificial respiration. The midbrain was bilaterally transected at the precollicular level except for the pyramidal tract.
