Nystagmus and abnormal eye movement in the cerebellar disease

　小脳障害と眼振の関係についてG．Holmes（1917）^1）以来，多くの論議が行なわれており，神経症候の記載においても眼振は小脳症候のなかに入っているものが多い。

　さらに，近年，小脳障害にみられる眼振のみならず異常な眼球運動についての記載もみられている。

There have been reported several types of the abnormal eye movements and nystagmus in the cerebellar disease. The authors classified these abnormal eye movements into two types i.e. spontaneous and induced eye movement, demon-strating by electronystagmographically. Opso-clonus, spontaneous downward beating nystagmus, transitory alternating saccade are in the former, whereas dysmetric eye movement including dys-metria, fiutter-like oscillation, rebound nystagmus, are induced abnormal eye movements and the latter seems to demonstrate essential characteristics of the cerebellar lesion.
