脳腫瘍血管の超微細構造と血液脳関門に関する研究

A study of capillary ultrastructure of brain tumors in association with blood-brain barrier

I．はじめに

　脳腫瘍においては，正常脳にみられる血液脳関門（Blood-Brain Barrier，以下BBBと略す）を欠くといわれる^3）。このことからラジオアイソトープを使った脳腫瘍の診断や，種々の化学療法剤による脳腫瘍の治療が試みられている^45）。

　BBBについては，種々の方面から，数多くの研究がなされているが，現在では形態学的，物理化学的，生化学的，あるいは生理学的などの多元的，Multimodalな理解が必要であるとされている^29）。

　The ultrastructure of the capillaries in human brain tumors was studied from the point of view of blood-brain barrier.

　Specimens of brain tumors were obtained at the time of surgery.

　Human brain tumors examined were 16 gliomas (Table 1), 8 neurinomas, 9 meningiomas, 5 pituitary adenomas, 1 hemangioblastoma, 1 choroid plexus papilloma and 2 metastatic tumors.

　1) In gliomas the hypertrophied capillary endothelial cells with irregular surface and villous process were characteristic and much more pinocytotic vesicles were observed than in those of normal brain (fig. 1, 3, 5, 7).
