Neuroscientists have analyzed functional anatomy of the human brain by neurological deficits on patients with localized brain diseases and electrical stimulation of the brain during surgery. Now recently advanced imaging techniques made it possible to visualize non-invasively the functional anatomy of the human brain. It has been well known that regional cerebral blood flow increases regionally corresponding to excitation of brain tissue with various kinds of stimulus, such as physical and neuropsychological tasks.
