  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

After the discovery of organizer by H. Spemann and H. Mangold in 1924, many investigators have tried to isolate or identify the neuralizing factors which induce the central nervous system in ectoderm. Three signal models, which are vertical, planer and homeiogenetic neural inductions for neural forma-tion are described. The recent molecular and biochemical studies have revealed that many genes relate with neurogenesis such as noggin, chordin, XlPOU-2, XASH-3, Delta, Notch and neuro D.
