認知症者数の急増に伴い，その社会的コストも増大している。日本における，2014年の認知症の社会的コストは，14兆5140億円と推計され，約40％がインフォーマルケアコストであった。今後は，費用の多寡の議論に終始することなく，費用に見合った効果が得られているかを評価する費用対効果研究，費用対効用研究などが実施される必要がある。

Abstract

Due to the rapid increase of the number in people with dementia, social costs of dementia are also expected to rise. In 2014, the social cost of dementia in Japan was estimated to be 145,140 billion yen, 40 ％ of which was spent on informal care. To investigate whether each intervention is worth the investment, more research on aspects like cost-effective analysis is expected to be undertaken.
