  • Abstract

A 60-year-old man complained of bladder irritability and lower abdominal pain. CT scan, ultrasonogra-phy and cystoscopy showed a mass at the dome of the bladder. Biopsy did not reveal malignant tissue. The patient successfully underwent removal of the mass with partial cystectomy. The mass as large as a hen's-egg was firmly adherent to the dome of the bladder. An ileal loop and the omentum were involved in the mass. Cut-section of the mass showed a fish bone. Histologically the mass was granuloma caused by a foreign body. A fish bone taken orally may have penetrated the ileal wall and reached the bladder wall.
