  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Forty-six patients with urinary tract infections who had undergone percutaneous nephroureterolitho-tomy were investigated. All of them had received prophylactic administration of antimicrobials. The incidence of postoperative urinary tract infections was higher in the patients with staghorn or calyceal stones and was related to the number of operations and the rate of residual stones. Most of these pathogens were Gram-negative bacteria including Enterobacteriaceae.
