  • Look Inside

The intravenous urogram (I.V.U.) is an important implement in diagnostic uroradiology. Numerous kinds of reactions associated with LV.U. had been described, but the skin lesion described in this paper had not been encountered in the literature. Marked cutaneous vesicles at the injection site was noticed in a 66-year-old, hypertensive female. This skin reaction was considered to be caused by extravasation and hyperosmolarity of the contrcst medium.

Recently, there is a tendency of using larger volume of contrast medium than previously. This kind of severe skin reaction seems to be increasing.
