Almost all the transplant recipients' blood pressure which had been hypertensive before surgery returns to the normal range after successful kidney transplant. However, some remains hypertensive or develops hypertension after a certain period of normotension because of various causes. Among them, stenosis of the transplant renal artery can cause not only hypertension but also deterioration of kidney function, which are very likely misdiagnosed to be chronic rejection of the graft with intimal changes of renal arterioles.
