　尿石疾患は過去20年の間に急激に増加している。大幅な罹患率の増大により，現在ではわれわれの人口約1％が尿石のために治療を受けている（Schmincke　＆Lengwinat）（第1図）。

　このことはまた恒常的に上昇しつつある生活水準と，そしてこれにより変化した栄養とに明らかに関係している（Hienzsch　＆　Schneider）。

The metabolism of calcium and magnesium plays an important role in the development of calcium oxalate stone. Therefore the metabolism of these ions were studied during several weeks of magnesium therapy on patients with oxalate stones by comparing it to the healthy people.

The magnesium content of serum and urine were significantly low and on the other hand, calcium content were high among the patients with oxalate stone, compared to the healthy people.
