緒言

　腎の嚢胞性疾患については，以前よりその発生，分類などに関して多くの説があり，未だ一定したものがない。その中で，1967年Gleason et al．^18）が述べている分類が臨床上便利と思われるので第1表に掲げておく。この分類では，renal dysplasiaの中に，unilateral multicystic disease,multicysticrenal dysplasia,unilateral polycystic disease,poly-cystic disease with abundant stroma,renal ap-Iasia，およびhypoplastic multicystic kidneyなどといわれるものが含まれている。

　Unilateral multicystic kidneyという名称は，1936年Schwarz^2）が"An unusual unilateral mul-ticystic kidney in an infant"として始めて使用し，その後1955年にSpence^4）が彼自身の経験例4例とそれまでの報告例をまとめて定義づけて以来，一般に使われるようになつたが，しかし一つの疾患とするよりもrenal dysplasiaの一形式と考えるほうが良いように思われる。

2 cases of congenital unilateral multicystic kidney in a 30 and 20 year old female, were reported.

The right kidney was not visualized by I.V.P. and the left kidney was normal in the first case but destructive findings were noticed at the upper and lower calyces with positive tuberculous bacili of the urine in the second case. Nephrectomy was performed in both cases for occlude renal tubercu-losis. The removed kidney weighed 750 and 30g with cysts of various size resembling a cluster of grapes.
