髄膜炎を併発した汎発性帯状疱疹の1例

GENERALIZED HERPES ZOSTER ACCOMPANIED BY MENINGITIS

I．はじめに

　帯状疱疹が，時に汎発化することは，よく知られており^1〜7），とくに白血病などのように，全身状態が強く障害される疾患に発症した場合に，汎発する傾向が多いとされている^1）。

　さらに，本症の場合，合併症として，神経痛，神経炎，運動神経麻痺，眼科的障害等はよく知られているものであるが^8），これらの他に，稀に髄膜炎，脳炎の併発例が報告^8〜18）されている。

A 13-year-old boy with herpes zoster on the face, which developed into meningitis and generalization, was reported. The clinical course suggested that meningitis might be caused by the same virus as that of the skin manifestations, although identification procedure was not performed.

The patient has not experienced chicken-pox, and was administered an adrenocortical steroid in the early stage of the present illness. These situations may have induced herpes zoster to generalization and meningitis.
