上顎に発生した骨化性線維腫の1症例

Ossifying Fibroma of the Maxilla:Report of a Case

　はじめに

　骨化性線維腫は線維性骨異形成の亜型であり，骨形成組織の増生が顕著に認められる線維性組織の異常増生であるといわれている^1）。しかし，全症例を区別分類することは不可能で，全てを包括した大きな集合として良性の線維-骨性病変としてまとめるような考え方^2）もあり，一定した説はない。

　今回われわれは，右頬骨から上顎骨にかけて生じた骨化性線維腫の1症例を経験したので報告する。

Ossifying fibroma, represented by deposition of lamellar bone with prominent osteoblastic rimming, is classified as one of the related lesions of fibrousdysplasia.

A 21-year-old male complained of a swelling of the right cheek for five years. CT and MRI demon-strated a large and well-circumscribed lesion in the right maxillary bone. Operation was performed with a purpose of reductiton of mass.

We concluded that surgical excision should be performed as the patient's request except for malig-nant or aggressive cases or invasive case to skull base.
