高齢者めまい症例の統計的観察

Statistical Observations of Vertiginous Elderly Patients

　はじめに

　最近の高齢化社会に伴い，高齢者のめまい症例も数多く経験するようになった。われわれは新潟大学耳鼻咽喉科において平衡機能検査を施行した65歳以上の高齢者のめまい症例について，65歳未満との疾患比較および年次別変遷を検討した。

A statistical analysis of 990 old patients over 65 years of age complaining of vertigo or dizziness compared with patients under 65 years was made.

1) The prevalance of cerebro-vascular disorders and degenerative diseases of the central nervous system was high, while that of cervical vertigo was low.

2) The prevalence of paroxysmal positional ver-tigo was not high and that of Meniere disease was not low.

3) The number of old patients and the ratio of old patients compared with total patients increased gradually in the last decade.
