はじめに
突発性難聴は，未だ原因不明の疾患であるが早期の治療開始により聴力回復が望める場合も比較的多い。われわれは1987年より突発性難聴の治療として高気圧酸素療法（Oxygenation at highpressure，以下OHPと略す）を施行してきた。そこでその治療効果について検討したので報告する。
From 1987 to 1993, among 141 cases of sudden deafness treated within the first four weeks after onset, 92 ears received hyperbaric oxygen therapy(OHP).
By this treatment, 24 cases (26%) showed a com-plete recovery, 39 cases (42%) remarkable improve-ment, 59 cases (64%) slight improvement, and 33 cases (36%) showed no improvement.
Severity of hearing loss, existence of vertigo, and time from onset influenced the prognosis.
