右反回神経麻痺を合併した胸腔内甲状腺腫の1例

Intrathoracic Goiter with Laryngeal Paralysis:Report of a Case

　はじめに

　甲状腺腫瘤の全部ないし一部が胸骨切痕を越えて胸腔内に存在する甲状腺腫を，胸腔内甲状腺腫（intrathoracic goiter）あるいは縦隔内甲状腺腫（mediastinal goiter）または胸骨後甲状腺腫（rero-sternal goiter）と呼称している^1）。その多くは随伴症状を認めないが，われわれは右反回神経麻痺を合併した胸腔内甲状腺腫の1例を経験したので若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

An 80-year-old female with an intrathoracic goiter presented with right laryngeal paralysis. The pathological finding of the tumor was Hashimoto's disease.

This goiter was rather small in the neck, but expanded into the mediastinum.

It was concluded that stretching of the recur-rent nerve by the intrathoracic goiter resulted in the right laryngeal paralysis.
