  • Look Inside

Traumatic medial orbital wall defects were found in 4 cases operated upon for such lesions as chronic sinusitis, ethmoidal mucoceles, and rhino-genic orbital complications. The primary causes for the orbital wall defects proceeded the sinusec-tomies more than 10 years as an average. Pre-operative evaluations by conventional views as Waters' and Caldwell views contributed much carefully analyzed. The problems for these cases are two-folds : to properly evaluate the defect of the medial orbital wall by conventional views and to obtain the past history of the orbital or facial trauma before a planned sinusectomy. When it is known beforehand, CT evaluations are essential for the surgical orientation.
