A Case of Campomelic Dysplasia

　緒言

　Campomelic dysplasiaはギリシャ語にて，“champe”（＝curvature，bent＝屈曲）＋“melos”（＝extremitis，limbs＝四肢）すなわち屈曲した四肢を表わす言葉より命名された疾患名で，四肢の屈曲（特に下肢），特徴的な顔貌，気管軟骨の形成不全を特微とした致死性小人症である。本疾患は全身性の重症な軟骨形成不全が原因となる哺乳障害，呼吸障害を主訴とし，新生児期または乳児期に死亡するとされている。今回われわれは当疾患による呼吸困難に対して気管切開を行った1例を経験したので若干の文献的考察を加え報告する。

The Campomelic syndrome is characterized by dwarfism, peculiar face with cleft palate, nume-rous cartilage and osseous anomalies including prenatal bowing of the lower extremities with pretibial skin dimpling, respiratory distress, gene-ralized hypotonia and neonatal death. But the pertinent control of respiration and nutrition bring a long-term survival. We experienced a case of this syndrome who underwent tracheotomy for improvement of respiratory insufficiency.
