  • Look Inside

A 17-year-old male patient of orbitopalpebral emphysema caused by facial injury was repor-ted. He was hit on his face by a fist several timesrepeatedly and on the next day, he suffered from a swelling of the right eyelid and double vision.

X-ray examination showed mild grade opacity at the right ethmoid sinus and a half round hy-pertransparency at the upper portion in the right orbit suggesting orbital emphysema.

As these symptoms persisted for 4 days, a needle aspiration was performed and air was removed. Afterwards, the disturbances disappeared.

Prevention was emphasized to inhibit blowing the nose after injury on the head and face.
