Here we report a case of pediatric vestibular neuritis caused by a mumps virus infection. An 8-year-old boy with symptoms such as dizziness and bilateral submandibular gland swelling was admitted to our hospital. His audiogram was normal:thus, he was diagnosed with acute mumps infection and vestibular neuritis associated with the infection.

Vestibular neuritis results from damage to the vestibular nerve caused by a viral infection. In this case, the mumps virus may infect only the vestibular nerve without infecting the inner ear, thereby causing vestibular neuritis.
