Crowned dens syndrome(CDS)is a syndrome with severe cervicodynia, fever and limitation of the cervical spine exercise by per odontoid calcifications. A 71 year-old man was transported to our hospital because of a three-day history of acute cervicodynia. He could not move and speak for cervicodynia. Computed tomography indicated the presence of deposits around the odontoid process and CDS was diagnosed. We treated by the use of Anti-biotics and NSAIDs because infection such as meningitis could not be denied completely.

Computed tomography(CT)was effective for diagnosis of CDS.
