We reported four cases of tick bites in the external auditory canal. The ticks in each case were of different species:Haemaphysalis flava, Haemaphysalis longicornis, Amblyomma testudinarium, and Ixodes nipponensis. In three cases, the ticks bit the bony parts of the ear canal, while the cartilaginous part was bitten in the remaining case. In all cases where the bony parts were bitten, the ticks were removed easily because they did not bite deeply info the skin. However, in the one case where the cartilaginous part was bitten, it was difficult to remove the tick without leaving the mouthparts.
